Buff Enough!

Addon Support Statement

Hello everyone. I'm no longer actively playing World of Warcraft (and haven't for many months). I'm looking for someone to take over maintenance of my addons. If you're interested, and have at least one released addon, send me a message at [email protected]

Addon Description

BuffEnough is a personal buff monitor that answers the simple question 'Am I buff enough?' If you're like me, when a raid leader does a ready check, you go through a mental checklist as you look over your buffs and gear, to make sure that you really are ready. Did I remember to do my own buff, do I have all pally blessings, do I have the correct pet out, am I still flasked/elixired, is my durability okay, did I forget to take off my riding crop, etc, etc. This is what BuffEnough does for you. It scans the raid to figure out what you should have, and then scans your buffs and gear to figure out what you do have. If the box is green, the answer is 'yes', you're buff enough. If the box is red or yellow, then you're still missing something and hovering your mouse over the box will tell you what it is in the tooltip. /be or /buffenough - brings up the command line list /be config - brings up the config UI (can also be accessed by Blizzard's interface options) Official Thread: http://forums.wowace.com/showthread.php?t=13082

on German Client, it allways show "missing Flask" in tooltip,i looked around an modified spell.lua a little bit and now it works. Maybe it is an Client problem i dont know!?.

iam not realy good in english and lua scripting but i hope you understand what i try to say and you can fix my problem, it is realy a very nice addon :)

Doesn't need it. The .flasks entries are exception cases specifically for flasks that don't start with 'Flask of the' (thus identifying them as flasks).

Is there a specific issue you're experiencing?

    LoL,

I know what you meant. I have mentioned it to the guild and they seem interested. Has come in handy on some of our raids. Will have a look at the Strata, seems to look good on my Alt so perhaps it is Strata on my main.

    Thanks Again,

    Nyth

Displaying all buffs, gotcha. I'll stick that on the to do list and see if I can come up with something decent. With regards to your frame issue, I think what you want to change is the 'Strata', which should be in your BE config options.

Appreciate the feedback. No bones necessary, just tell your friends about the addon and keep the feedback flowing in. That's bone enough for me. Er... that didn't come out right...

Thanks Nick for the prompt response.

Re: Defensive Stance warning I am using CT so that would explain it. I will try adding it as a custom field. Dual Specd (Prot/Prot) tank I am always in Defense stance so that's why I don't like that feature. You could just as well make a warning saying you are in a Fury stance but as it is I can live with it.

Re: BuffEnough Output I see, makes sense for a pet owner, can you make it a checkbox to turn it off and on?

Re: Displaying all buffs If you could make a button that when clicked a page would pop-up and display all the buffs the program is tracking. This would make me feel more secure that I am not missing anything and if I were I could easily add it. As it is now, we the end-user have to trust (no offense) that you have all possible buffs programed. It is a seeing is believing thing. Not a major item, but woudl be nice to show people what it is currently tracking.

New observation: I noticed that when I drag the addon UI (button) over my Spartan UI From Here That the frame stays on top but the red color drops to the bottom behind the UI. Not sure if you can make it all appear on top as I am not a programmer.

Once again, I think you got a great addon going, where can I send you a few bones?

    Re: Defensive Stance warning
That's funny, because many a warrior has thanked me for that particular feature. ;) BuffEnough only supports oRA for setting tanks, so that's why you're still seeing it if you're using CT. An easier way around it if you're not using oRA is to simply set up a custom buff check to ignore that one. Then you shouldn't have to manually edit anything.

    Re: BuffEnough Output
The person who is speaking and the party that needs the buff may not necessarily be the same. For example, classes with pets.

    Re: Displaying all buffs
Not sure I understand this suggestion. Is it that you want it to continue to display what buffs it's tracking even after you have them?

  • Avatar of NythKT NythKT May 19, 2009 at 20:11 UTC - 0 likes

I have to say this is a great addon but I have two issues and one request:

ISSUE I am a Protection Warrior and I can't stand the Defensive mode Warning. Please get rid of it. Even when CT has me as a Main Tank it still shows "Unexpected Defensive Stance". I went in an edited the code to remove it but would hate to do that every update.

When you /party /raid or /whisper it spams "Buffenough: [name]", then a second line with missing buffs. On the second line it shows everyone who is speaking so it makes the first line pointless Advertisement Spam for the addon. Once again, I deleted it but I would hate to do that on each update.

REQUEST: Please make a tab that displays all of the buffs and what class gives them. This way I know what the addon is tracking and what ones I added or need to add. Having it hidden behind the scenes makes me question if it working 100%.

Other than that i think it is one of the best addons for raiding.

Inventory items (mana gems, healthstones, reagents, ammo, etc) is something on my list to consider. Buffs placed on other people (Focus Magic, Vigilance, Bacon of Light, etc) is out of the scope of BuffEnough, though, I think.

Any chance to include mana gems conjured by mages? Oh and well as target buffs such as Focus Magic please? :D :)
