BigWigs Bossmods

611 - Disable "this zone requires the ____ plugin" warnings

I'd love to see an option to permanently disable the "Please note that this zone requires the _____ plugin for timers to be displayed." messages. I'm fully aware that I need LittleWigs if I want to see timers for Mogu'shan Palace, etc. and seeing this message for every dungeon I run on every character every day is a little much. Similarly, I run all the classic, TBC, and sometimes Wrath instances every week on multiple characters for achievements or transmog, and don't need to be warned over and over that I'm not going to get timers for Ragnaros 1.0 if I don't install BigWigs_Classic.

Since BigWigs original mission was to reduce boss mod spam, I think an option to reduce this particular spam would fit right in. If not, can you at least make the list of which zones I was warned about save between sessions on a per-account basis?

Thanks!

I don't want to save a giant list of "warned" zones. I'll think about adding an option to hide it.

Well, that's why I suggested saving the list of warned zones between sessions -- after I've already been "made aware of such things" 500 times, there's really no need to keep showing the warnings.

In fact, I do have LittleWigs installed for the warlock scenario, but I have it disabled for all other characters, and disable it on my warlock outside of the couple attempts on Kanrethad I do every Sunday, but that's the only part of LittleWigs I want. I don't want or need timers in LFD 5-mans, and I certainly don't want or need timers in Molten Core (who does?).

If you really think this forced spam is necessary, I guess I'll just write and release a separate addon that blocks it, since that's easier than remembering to modify BigWigs after every release. I just can't understand why you wouldn't give users the option. It doesn't have to be enabled by default, and it could even require clicking through 100 dire warnings to proceed.

Nope. One of the main reasons I want it is for introduction of new content e.g. Warlock solo scenario, where someone might have these messages disabled and that warning wouldn't print, then they'd have no clue it even exists. Where as normally they may have no interest in running LW due to the ease of 5 mans, they may want to install it just for that scenario which is actually difficult.

If you don't want to be made aware of such things all you need to do is comment out line 712 in Loader.lua
