BetterQuest

Tracker

BetterQuest provides an improved quest tracker, and enhances the blizzard quest log.

If other people in your party are using BetterQuest, FuBar_QuestFu, or anything else that uses the LibQuixote-2.0 library, it'll display their quest status.

It can automatically track quests when you get near them, play sounds when you complete quests, and do other wild and wacky things.

Glad to see there is a new alpha version that makes BetterQuest work again. Still I find I am unable to use the Tracked tracker, but since Full and Tracked seem to be pretty much the same its not a huge problem since I am able to use Full. Additionally I have found that Blizz has changed something that prevents .mp3 files from play and so now all sound files appear to have to be converted to .ogg. This seems to restore their ability to play in game.

Thanks for this addon and the recent alpha update.

My wife and I just installed this and grouped up. I can't see any of her quests, let alone her status on the quest objectives.

The description says "If other people in your party are using BetterQuest, FuBar_QuestFu, or anything else that uses the LibQuixote-2.0 library, it'll display their quest status," but that doesn't seem to be the case. Am I missing an option that isn't on by default?

Are you using something else to get the scenario objectives? Not popping up for me even after wiping settings.

Made a ticket of error after quest acceptance that keeps poping up. It actually comes other places too but i just noticed it there more :) Thanks!

That one is tricky! It's the Cross Realm Zone stuff; when you change realms you get a sudden burst of events saying that you've lost and then regained all your quests and skills. (If you have an addon that notifies you of skill gains, for instance, you'll see a spam of messages about that as well.)

I'm sort of hoping that Blizzard will fix that. If they haven't in a few weeks, I'll likely do it myself.

Just wanted to make a quick post to report a possible bug. I am hoping that your still updating this addon as I do see the most recent version is an alpha for 5.0.4. The bug I am experiencing is that when I change zones it repeats the quest complete sound along with the text pop up that you see in the middle of your screen (i'm assuming that it does that through the scrolling combat text or whatever interface that Blizzard uses for that.)

Keep up the good work I love this addon.

    @Znuff: Go

Yours is the third comment I've seen (including mine below) making mention of the current hard to see "click to complete" blue recoloring of quest tracker headers. The Curse comment about it: "This addon seems to block the auto-complete quest popup that comes up for certain new post-shattering and cataclysm quests. It's rather annoying and I'm gonna quit using it for now."

The major game-breaking problem with it I've experienced on continued usage: the fact that if you minimize quests into a zone header in the BetterQuest tracker, you will never see a "click to complete" indication for any of those quests.

So hopefully the "click to complete" functionality of this can be improved sometime.

Thanks for this wonderful replacement of FuBar_QuestsFu!

The only part of this addon I'm not using is the interesting quest-tracker, and here's why:

    • Tracking achievments with gold results in insane numbers like: 430000000/500000000. Should be able to visually represent coins.
    • Deleting the default trackers makes them appear again after a /reload ui
    • There's no way to hide the number of achievments tracked.
    • Click-functions should function like the Blizzard tracker (shift+click, alt+click, click etc.)
    • Can we have a shiny, larger "Click here to complete", and make it pop at the top of the frame, bringing everything else down, like the normal tracker does?
    • Increasing the font-size makes everything show up weird (overlapping objectives description with counter)

    Thanks for reading.
