Dajova Fri, 02 Oct 2009 17:32:43Been using this the past week now and i gotta say, it's even better than Capping :)
Only problem now after the latest version (r65), it starts to spam the chat (no channel, just the chat) with the number of players on each side... here's a ss of how i mean:

lilsparky Sat, 19 Sep 2009 23:41:43been using sspvp since switching from alar (which always seemed so kludgy to me).
might consider adding galv/belinda status to av.
i'm a little concerned about the size of the display. an option to use abbreviations would be helpful (or even turn off names entirely as an expert mode). north/south and east/west would need some id (maybe a letter -- n/s/e/w -- right on the icon itself). keeping in mind that i also know what the numbers next to the horde/ally icons mean so the word "reinforcements" could also be nixed in a compact/expert setting.
might also consider bumping down the alpha of positions that are not in play to help keep the important info more visible.
having an option for occasional warnings based on timers could be nice. like "tower point will be destroyed in 1 minute". or maybe something more subtle like blinking icons and/or timers for critical points.
do you plan to have status sharing for the bosses? that is a nice touch and can help get people moving if they see that the opposing faction is serious with their engagements of the boss. obviously, health status would not always be available.

Nandini Wed, 16 Sep 2009 13:43:36I'm giddy. I actually shiverred sitting in my chair here. This is the most intuitive visualization I have ever seen for these data.
At first I thought for the AV layout it would be good to move the Irondeep Mine and Coldtooth Mine POIs to the center, since they both start out neutral and can convey additional reinforcements to either faction. But then I realized you've arranged the POIs by their geography rather than by starting faction or function.
I think the way you have it provides a better overview at-a-glance of each team's progress. (And I think doing it any other way would be extremely confusing in other batlegrounds.) I can imagine this would also be a huge help for new players who don't know all the landmarks to learn the "typical" progression through a battleground.
While the project's name lends itself to easy searching (and obvious functionality), my only concern is that when I begin recommending this addon to my friends, they may be confused when I say, "You guys absolutely HAVE to get Battleground!" or ".. the Battleground addon." I hate cute names, but something like "Battleground Buddy" would probably still keep it at the top in auto-complete-style alphabetical searches, and at or near the top in keyword searches for "battleground". Perhaps you can come up with something less cutesy sounding than "Battleground Buddy", but still less generic than "Battleground". ("Battleground Objective Display" maybe? Then it could even have a geeky acronym, "BOD".)

Skizelli Wed, 16 Sep 2009 07:36:55This looks really promising. I'm looking forward to its progress. I've been searching for a good BG timers mod for what seems like forever, and DBM just isn't cutting it for me anymore. I'd rather use something that uses Ace. Keep up the good work.
