BanzaiAlert

1 - No sound in r116

Just tried the new r116.
I get the text in the error frame and the screen flashing, but no sound at all.
Tried 5 different sounds, but same result for all of them.

Thank you, yes, I will investigate a bit further then.

Okay, did some more testing. With only BA enabled as addon, it works fine. In the config dialog I see 4-5 sounds (Babe, Zenham...).

With all my other addons enabled, I see loads of sounds in the dropdown in the BA config dialog. And all the BA sounds are now called "BanzaiAlert: Babe", "BanzaiAlert: Zenham"...

I don't know how addons/sounds work, but it seems like they share the same pool of sounds. The rest of the sounds are probably coming from addons like PowerAura and QuestProgressSounds.

Maybe that can give you an idea what the problem might be?

Yeah, I do have sound effects enabled and I also got a sounds folder with 2x .ogg files. Just tried again using the BanzaiAlert: Babe sound, but no alert at all. All I can think of is that there may be a conflict with some other addon that is preventing BA from making sounds.

Well the sound works fine here, so I dunno.

Point is, if you disable "Sound effects" in game, addon sounds will no longer play since 4.0.1. Pre-4.0, you only needed to have the master sound toggle at the top enabled, and all addon sounds would play, but game sounds would not.

If you have "Sound effects" enabled, however, then I don't know what could be the problem.

Is there a sounds/ folder inside BanzaiAlert? Does it have 2x .ogg files in it?

Not sure what you mean by "Blizzard destroyed all addon sounds". I got many other addons that produce sounds and they work just fine.

There's no sound because Blizzard destroyed all addon sounds in 4.0.1? No addons can play sounds unless you have "Sound effects" enabled.

They will fix this in a future patch, there's nothing I can do about it.
