Hi, first I wanted to say that Archy is a great addon and helps me a lot. Second, I wanted to suggest a function to trace survey results. Even though the direction is inaccurate, flashing light color is 100% accurate in some ways and we could use that. For example if it goes red, it means that the artifact has to be further (in some but unknown direction) than yellow light range. So we could exclude this circle from the zone area (in my opinion by drawing a red circle with the correct diameter and alpha over the mini map zone). Similarly, yellow means it is further than green range but closer then red range, and green light meaning it has to be closer then yellow and has to be around :) . So basically we would stack red zones where it can't be with green zones where it must be. Using transparency it would be easy to see intersections and pinpoint the artifact there. This would be really effective in large dig zones where it would cut off big chunks fast. Since I feel it is not easy for an addon to check the color of the survey light, I would suggest three colored buttons, which the player would click after survey and it would use the player's position (so maybe it should compensate for some few yards error difference between player and survey tool position). When you discover an artifact it would just clear all those circles it drew and we could start digging again. :)

    Good morning,

First, i want to say that you have created a addon that has made me want to do Archeology ingame. Thanks. Second, i have a request/suggestion. Would it be possible to add a listing of the probable artifacts that you can obtain ingame for each race. I like the idea of blocking a race but i think right now it's potentiol is only 50% realized.

While I love the addon and some of the bug fixes in the beta version ( the color indicator actually changes to yellow/red at the proper distances instead of 10 yards early and other misc. bugs) I find the new UI for dig sites and artifacts to be very bulky. If I wanted progress bars and all that jazz I would open up the default blizzard profession window.

Or use the ldb tool tip (which does seem a little over crowded. The tool tip takes up a ton of screen space with the beta. The current release version lists are perfect and mesh well with the standard blizzard UI. It blends in well because it looks like the blizzard quest tracker.

It also offers all the benefits of the beta versions, but in a more compact version. If you need to see the progress bar you click the artifact to open the blizzard UI window and see the progress bar. If you want to add keystones you right click instead of left click. There is such a thing as making it to fancy.

At the very least allow people to choose between the Classic (current release version) and the New (beta version) skins/ui/design. I find myself not wanting to use the addon (I keep dig site and artifact lists off with beta version) or not wanting to do archaeology as a whole because I don't like the addon that made me like the profession even more then I already did.

One item that could be very handy is to show the archaeology ability cooldown in the interface so you know when you can double-right-click to dig again (especially useful on green scans).

In the options for display of Artifacts/Dig sites when the Opacity slider at 1 I expect a black no see the background not still see through it as it still does, just makes it still hard to read.

The range at which the survey tool goes red, yellow green, depends on the size of the digsite.

I concur. Loose the fancy graphics and keep it simple with text and the small race emblem. Completion progress bars are not necessary as are the distances to the dig sites. Otherwise, a wonderful add-on for the Geocacher in all of us WoW players (much better format before the additional glitz).

I have checked out the latest beta, and please have an option to keep the original style. The original style is unobtrusive while roaming around and digging. The new style, not so much...

I appreciate this addon. I can of course stick with 1.6.3 until it no longer works.
